Global Partners of the African Democratic Alliance for Freedom and Progress (ADAFP)

ADAFP collaborates with continental, regional, and international organisations committed to democracy, peace, development, and progressive governance. These partnerships strengthen our mission, expand our reach, and reinforce our role within African and global political communities.


Continental & Intergovernmental Partners

ADAFP engages with Africa’s leading political and regional institutions, including:

  • African Union
  • Ministries of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) across African countries
  • Regional Economic Communities (RECs), such as:
    • The Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS)
    • East African Community (EAC)
    • Southern African Development Community (SADC)
    • Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD)
  • Pan-African parliamentary, civic, and diplomatic institutions

These relationships help ensure strong alignment with Africa’s democratic and development agenda.


Regional Bodies & Policy Institutions

ADAFP maintains productive ties with regional bodies focused on governance, peacebuilding, and development, including:

  • African regional research institutes
  • Democracy and governance observatories
  • Electoral support mechanisms
  • Policy development centres and think tanks
  • Civic and human rights institutions

These partners contribute technical expertise and reinforce our work across the continent.

ADAFP cooperates with international networks that support:

  • Cross-border political cooperation

Examples include global liberal networks, democratic alliances, and international political foundations with programmes in Africa.


Pro-Democracy Foundations & Development Institutions

ADAFP works closely with foundations and institutions dedicated to:

  • Democratic resilience
  • Economic development and poverty reduction
  • Institutional capacity building
  • Rule of law and justice reforms
  • Peacebuilding and conflict mitigation
